Maintenance of EmiCo lite

Maintenance of EmiCo lite

EmiCo lite is a robust, low-maintenance gas analyzer designed for continuous operation in wastewater treatment plants. For consistently reliable measurements, a structured maintenance program is essential.Wastewater treatment plant operators already have many tasks to perform, and maintenance should not be one of them. That's why EmiCo lite requires only about 20 minutes of maintenance per year to maintain peak performance.

Calibration

Precise calibration is crucial for the reliability of the measured values. The EmiCo lite uses a semi-automatic calibration procedure with certified gas bags, which enables traceable and user-friendly calibration directly on site.

Calibration is carried out using the gas bags supplied (CO₂, CH₄, N₂O) and a 6 mm PTFE hose:

  • Zero point calibration with nitrogen (N₂)
  • Gas calibration (CO₂, CH₄, N₂O)
  • Return to measurement mode

Replacing the particle filters

The EmiCo lite is equipped with three particle filters that protect internal components from contamination and maintain measurement accuracy.

Exchange procedure:

  • Ensure a tight fit to guarantee gas tightness.
  • Remove the old filter and loosen the screw connections.
  • Align the new filters according to the flow direction (arrow on the filter).
  • Connect the hoses and secure them with coupling screws.
  • Ensure a tight fit to guarantee gas tightness.

Overview of maintenance plan

Zero point gas

To enable precise measurements, EmiCo lite determines the 0-point of the components. The system performs an automatic zero-point calibration with pure nitrogen every week. A nitrogen bottle is connected to the system for this purpose.

Semi-annual calibration

To avoid drifts, the EmiCo system must be calibrated every 6 months. Calibration is carried out by connecting gas bags with predetermined N₂O, CH₄ and CO₂ concentrations to the system. These bags are sent by Variolytics in advance.

Maintenance

The devices are monitored remotely by Variolytics to determine whether additional maintenance is required.

Service & Support

Variolytics offers maintenance contracts, calibration equipment, replacement filters and technical support to ensure the long-term performance of your EmiCo lite system.
